Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose" McGowan (born September 5 1973) is an American actress and activist. Her film debut was a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan received more attention for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) with an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. McGowan made her debut in the horror film Scream in 1996. Then, she appeared as the lead actress in Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998) as well as Going All the Way (1997). In the 2000s, McGowan became known to the public via her role in the role of Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) that in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. She was a part of the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) and released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018. It was followed by a repackaging in 2020. In 2017 Time recognized McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine's Person of the Year, for her stance on sexual harassment and assault particularly in relation to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases and the Me Too movement. McGowan has published an autobiography, Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in 2018.

She is well-known for her role as Kim Fischer on The Mentalist and as Amara the Darkness in the 11th season of Supernatural. She was also the Armorer in Star Wars' live-action series The Mandalorian.
