Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was known as a TV host, former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic experience for me. It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell who graduated from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Through her stay in Italy she came to be aware of the history and principles of Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact on her food perspective. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which improves the lives of kids who face difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell is on the road to promote her love for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne said she felt lucky to be able to impart her enthusiasm to the people around her.
